Who is responsible for your data
Love IQ Limited (company number 17557676), London, United Kingdom, is the controller of the personal data described here, under UK data protection law.
What we collect
- Account details: such as your email address or sign-in method, and your name or nickname if you give one.
- Your answers: your age confirmation, relationship status, your partner's gender, experience level, goals, and your Love IQ quiz and survey answers.
- Your progress: lessons completed, scores, streaks, badges, saved cards and challenge check-ins.
- Coach conversations: the messages you send the Coach and its replies (unless you use Vanish mode).
- Purchase status: whether you have a trial or subscription. The App Store or Google Play handles your payment. We never see your card details.
- Device and usage information: such as app version, device type and how features are used, to keep the app working and improve it.
Sensitive information
Some of your answers and Coach messages relate to your sex life or sexual health. UK law treats this as special category data. We only use it with your explicit consent, to give you your score, your plan and your lessons, and to let the Coach reply. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.
We do not put the text of your answers or Coach messages into analytics tools.
Why we use your data
- To provide the app: your account, score, personalised path and Coach (to perform our contract with you).
- To use your sensitive answers (with your explicit consent).
- To keep the app secure and fix problems, and to understand which features are useful (our legitimate interests).
- To follow the law, for example tax and consumer rules.
Who we share it with
We share data only with service providers who help us run Love IQ, and only what they need. These include providers for hosting and database storage, subscription management, app analytics, and the AI service that powers the Coach. They act on our instructions.
We do not sell your data, share it for advertising, or post anything on your behalf.
Coach and Vanish mode
To answer you, your Coach messages are sent to an AI service. Please do not share names, addresses or other details that identify you or other people.
In Vanish mode your messages are not kept in your chat history.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account we delete or anonymise your personal data, apart from anything we must keep by law. Copies in backups are removed on a rolling basis.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to:
- tell you what data we hold and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your data;
- restrict or object to how we use it;
- move your data to another service;
- stop using data that relies on your consent.
Keeping it discreet and secure
Love IQ offers a passcode lock, a plain app icon option and neutral notification text. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure.
Under-18s
Love IQ is for adults only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we find that we have, we will delete it.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. When they do, we make sure it is protected by an approved safeguard, such as the UK's International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
Complaints and changes
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
We may update this policy. If we make an important change we will tell you in the app.
